About the event

Our residential programmes are the cornerstone of our operation. We understand that in case of sickness, the body often needs complete rest; the mind needs space and time to refocus and regenerate. We aim to provide a calm, supporting environment, where you can take time away from the demands on everyday life, and give yourself a place to breathe and to heal.

Your stay at Manna House starts on Sunday with a plant-based lunch, prepared from the freshest ingredients sourced locally and some from our garden and cooked in our kitchen. On this first day, you will have a private consultation with our health consultants and a programme tailored according to your personal needs. Sunday afternoon you will attend an introductory lecture outlining the activities for the next few days. In the evening you will savour the freshly made vegetable broth and then return to your room to drift off to sleep.

Monday begins early with health checks and morning meditational. After this, you will commence the detox or cleansing programme. You will be treated to your first juice of the day, after which various freshly made juices will be served every few hours. Following juices, the day continues with walking, a health conference, and then the health presentation starts. Here you will learn about various processes of the body and how the body possesses amazing techniques to recover from sickness, given the correct opportunities.

According to your specific health needs and personalised health package, you will have various therapies administered, such as hydrotherapy treatments, poultices, massages, and further assessments. There is time to relax, take a walk, do some leisurely gardening or simply read and meditate. By the evening you will be ready for a nutritious warm broth, and enjoy an enlightening meditational worship before bedtime remedies. After this, you can happily retire for your much-needed sleep.

The next few days of the programme is much like the first day, where you will participate in the juice feast, enjoy therapy classes and meditational worship sessions, also practical demonstration. There is also time between these activities where you can pursue activities – or non-activities – of your choosing.

The amount of days you enjoy your 'juice feast' is dependent on your detoxing progress. When we see steady improvement, you are ready to transition from delightful juice to plant-based meals.

On the morning your juicing ends, there will be a more vigorous early morning walk, followed by a breakfast of lightly steamed vegetables and other delights. This is followed by more interesting health presentations, more relaxing and cleansing therapies, and then another mouth-watering wholesome lunch. The rest of your time progresses fairly much the same – days of enjoyable exercise, informative lectures, practical demonstrations, soothing therapies, fun activities and scrumptious plant-based meals.

On the penultimate evening, we join together to celebrate your graduation from the Restore to Health programme with a keynote motivational speaker, certificate and photos to remind you of your achievement. On the morning of departure, you will enjoy a hearty and delicious breakfast. Your very last health presentation ' The Journey Continues' is a time to reflect on the last few days and what you achieved and make key decisions about the changes you will commit to once you leave Manna House.  Departure is usually between 11 and 11.30 am.

Most people find themselves experiencing ambivalent emotions – they look forward to getting home and sharing their new knowledge and energy, but at the same time are sad to be leaving such a relaxing and friendly atmosphere. Each guest leaves with new friendships and memories that often call them back for return stays!
